Industrial cooling plays a crucial role in sectors such as the food industry, the chemical industry and the pharmaceutical industry, but is traditionally associated with high energy consumption and significant CO₂ emissions. In this context, eco-efficiency means: greater cooling performance with less energy, fewer raw materials and lower emissions across the entire life cycle of installations. Decarbonisation requires, first and foremost, electrification combined with renewable energy, but also process optimisation and heat recovery. Digitalisation and smart control systems make it possible to dynamically adjust systems to actual cooling demand, thereby avoiding peak consumption. In addition, residual heat from cooling processes can be upgraded and reused in production or heating processes, which significantly increases overall energy efficiency.
